I've seen some new 2834-2 movements on Ebay, but I'm worried that the existing day and date discs in the original movement (which are in good shape) won't fit a new movement. So is there somewhere to source good quality vintage Bulova movements? The top grade ETA movements are focused on better temperature stability. They use different materials in all escapement parts, Also, the complete movements are better adjusted in more positions (4 top vs. 2 std) Additionally, they have a stronger mainspring. Since Tudor uses ETA ebauches, the movements arrive unadjusted, without escapements. Generally you can go to ebay and search a specific movement + dial and get at least a dozen results. For the 2834-2 movement with fully spelled-out day, this isn't the case: there's gaudy/ugly faux-rolex dials being sold with movements, and only a few other dials. None of which appear to be unbranded.
